Cheesy Beef Burger Toasted Sandwiches
Oozing with two layers of melted cheese, caramelised onions and burger sauce, learn how to make a beef burger in the form of a golden toasted sandwich.
Ingredients

- 1 large brown onion, thinly sliced 1 large brown onion, thinly sliced
- 1/2 white sourdough loaf, cut into 8 slices 1 half white sourdough loaf, cut into 8 slices
- 5ml olive oil cooking spray 5 millilitres olive oil cooking spray
- 1/3 cup burger sauce 1 thirds cup burger sauce
- 8 tasty cheese slices 8 tasty cheese slices
- 290g Woolworths Italian-style salad kit 290 grams Woolworths Italian-style salad kit
Method
- Heat half the oil in a large frying pan over medium heat. Cook burgers, turning frequently, for 14 minutes or until cooked through. Transfer to a plate and cover to keep warm.
- Heat remaining oil in same pan over medium heat. Cook onion, stirring, for 12 minutes or until golden and caramelised. Transfer to a small bowl. Clean pan.
- Spray one side of each slice of bread with oil. Place 4 slices of bread, oiled-sides down, on a chopping board. Spread with burger sauce. Top with a slice of cheese, burger, onion and remaining cheese. Sandwich with remaining bread slices, oiled-sides up.
- Heat pan over medium heat. Cook sandwiches, in batches, for 3 minutes on each side or until bread is golden and cheese has melted.
- Meanwhile, prepare salad according to packet instructions. Serve sandwiches with salad.
