Creamy Mushroom Sauce
Learn how to make an easy creamy mushroom sauce to serve with steak or toss through pasta
Ingredients
- 40g butter
- 1 small brown onion, finely chopped
- 2 clove garlic, crushed
- 400g Swiss brown mushrooms, sliced
- 2 tsp thyme leaves (plus extra to serve)
- 1 tbs white wine vinegar
- 300ml pure cream
Method
- Melt butter into a frying pan over medium heat. Add onion and cook, stirring occasionally, for 4 minutes or until softened. Add garlic and cook, stirring, for 1 minute or until fragrant.
- Add mushroom and cook for 5 minutes, stirring occasionally or until tender. Add thyme and cook, stirring occasionally, for 2 minutes. Add vinegar and cook, stirring, for 1 minute. Add cream and cook, stirring occasionally, for 5 minutes or until cream has reduced by half.
- Season and serve sprinkled with extra thyme.
