A fun way to decorate eggs this Easter with very few Chealsea NZ ingredients and dollops of a range of food colouring. Have fun!

  • 1 cup Chelsea Icing Sugar
  • 1 tsp butter
  • 1 Tbsp water
  • ¼ tsp Hansell's vanilla essence

To Colour Icing

  • ¼ tsp Hansell’s Red food colouring
  • ¼ tsp Hansell’s Raspberry essence
  • ¼ tsp Hansell’s Green food colouring
  • ¼ tsp Hansell’s Peppermint essence
  • ¼ tsp Hansell’s Red food colouring
  • ¼ tsp Hansell’s Blue food colouring
  • ¼ tsp Hansell’s Banana essence

White Icing Mixture

  1. Combine Icing Sugar, butter, water and essence until it forms a smooth, pliable dough ( i.e. not a liquid as normal Icing for a cake).

To Decorate

  1. You will need 3 small bowls. Divide white icing into three equal portions and place each portion in a small bowl.
  2. Add red food colouring and raspberry essence to one bowl. Add green food colour and peppermint essence to the second bowl and red and blue food colouring and banana essence to the third bowl.
  3. Using your hands work the colouring and essences into the Icing until an even colour.
  4. Take tablespoons full of mixture and shape into Easter egg shapes. Place the eggs on baking paper.
  5. Make up extra Icing using blue, green and pink colouring.
  6. Decorate eggs with coloured Icing as pictured.
