Fairy Bread & Butter Pudding
Enjoy a Kiwi take on a classic with this Fairy Bread & Butter Pudding recipe from the Glenn Jones Kiwiana tea towel collection.
Ingredients
- 1 jar Hundreds & Thousands
- 8 slices of Bread
- 3 cups Milk
- 4 Eggs
- 4 Tbsp White Sugar
- 2 tsp Vanilla Essence
- Butter
Method
- Spread the bread slices with butter and cover with hundreds & thousands.
- Cut bread into triangle quarters and arrange in large baking dish.
- In a separate bowl beat together the milk, egg, sugar and vanilla essence. Pour over the bread.
- Bake at 180ºC for 40-45 minutes, until the custard is set (check regularly after 35 minutes as cooking time may vary in different ovens).
- Sprinkle with remaining hundreds & thousands, serve with a little cream or ice cream.
