Power through Autumn
While the autumn season brings a drop in temperatures and a gradual decline of daylight hours, our immune systems can fall weak as we adjust with seasons transitioning.
Here are a few tips below to help you power through the cooler months:
- Keep active
Use this fresh start in season as a chance to explore some new and different ways to keep active. Sign up to a new gym class, or take up another activity you enjoy to keep you fit, healthy and strong.
- Make the most of in-season fruits and vegetables
Autumn brings a number of fresh flavours to the table and seasonal produce that’s packed full of vitamins and minerals that will nourish your body. Citrus fruits, like mandarins, are great for getting your vitamin C intake and boosting your immune system.
- Make the most of hearty and warming dishes
Pumpkin, courgettes, capsicums, eggplants, leeks and parsnips are ideal for soups and stews. These sorts of dishes will help to keep you warm as the temperature outside drops.
- Hydrate your skin
During the Autumn, our skin and lips tend to get quite dry. Maintain healthy skin by moisturising after washing up. Don’t forget to apply lip balm on your lips to help heal dry and cracked lips throughout the cooler months.
- 7. Apply Sunscreen — Even on grey days
Don’t be fooled by darker, dreary days in autumn and winter. The suns’ harmful UV rays through the clouds can still cause damage. Before you go outside, apply sunscreen with an SPF of 15 or higher to all exposed areas of your body.
