Trick or Sweet Halloween Platter

Ingredients

Halloween Bark
  • White chocolate - 200 g
  • Dark chocolate - 100 g
  • Other Halloween sweets, such as snakes - 100 g
  • Edible candy eyeballs (plus one packet for Pretzel ghosts) - 1 packet
Witches' Fingers and Pretzel Ghosts
  • White chocolate - 250 g
  • Pretzel sticks - 50 g
  • Green food colouring - 4-5 drops
  • Sliced almonds - 20 pieces
  • Salted pretzels - 50 g
Sweets
  • Lindor chocolate blood orange
  • RJs's chocolate raspberry balls
  • Hershey's cookies 'n' cream fangs
  • Lolliland spooky Halloween lollipops

Method

  1. Prepare the Halloween Bark: Line a large baking tray with baking paper. Melt the white chocolate in a heat proof bowl over a pot of simmering water, making sure the bowl doesn’t touch the water. Or place chocolate in a microwave proof bowl, then microwave on medium for 3 to 4 minutes, stirring halfway, or until melted and smooth. In a separate bowl, melt the dark chocolate using the same method.
  2. Pour the white chocolate into the tray and spread in an even layer. Drizzle over the dark chocolate then swirl it with a skewer to make a pattern. Arrange an assortment of Halloween sweets and edible candy eyeballs on the top. Press lightly into the chocolate. Refrigerate for 1 to 2 hours or until set, then break into shards.
  3. To make the Witches’ Fingers and Pretzel Ghosts, line a baking tray with baking paper. Melt the white chocolate in a heat proof bowl using the method above.
  4. For the fingers, dip a pretzel stick into the chocolate, leaving about 1 cm undipped at the end. Lay onto the tray then press an almond into the coated end. Repeat with remaining pretzel sticks. For the ghosts, use a fork to dip a pretzel into the chocolate, allowing excess to drip off. Place onto the tray then arrange the candy eyes on top. Repeat with remaining pretzels, chocolate and eyes. Refrigerate for 30 minutes or until set.
  5. Arrange the Halloween Bark shards, Witches’ Fingers, Pretzel Ghosts on a large platter. Fill in the gaps with other Halloween sweets.
