White Wine & Garlic Mussels
A Classic recipe thats perfect for sharing!
Goes beautifully with some toasted buttered bread to help finish off the sauce!
Ingredients
- 1.8kg Live Fresh Mussels
- 3-4 Large Shallots Chopped Finely
- 2 Cups Dry White Wine
- 4-6 Garlic Cloves Finely chopped (depends how much you like garlic)
- Generous Pinch of Salt
- 1/3 Cup of Mixed Parlsey, Chervil, Basil
- 85g Salted Butter Cut into Cubes
Method
- Rinse Mussels Under Cold Water and Scrub until Clean
- Remove the beards from the Mussels using your fingers or a small knife
- In a large pot combine the wine, shallots, garlic and salt over a medium heat
- Bring the pot to a simmer for around 5 minutes.
- Add mussels into the pot and cover. Increase the heat to high to ensure mussels are cooked properly
- After around 5 minutes all of mussel should be open, ensure your mussels open otherwise discard them.
- Stir in the herbs and butter and remove from the heat.
- Serve across 4 bowls dividing the mussels first and then covering with the sauce.
- Serve with Warmed Toasted Buttered Bread
