Locals Helping Locals

The new owners at FreshChoice Mangere Bridge have continued on the FreshChoice commitment to supporting our local communities and have assisted a number of worthwhile organisations over the past few months.

Mangere Bridge owner Marcella Howarth explains “It’s been wonderful getting to know the local groups and organisations we have supported with the FreshChoice Community Fund. We love giving back to our local community and it’s great to know we can make a real difference”.

Over the past four months our Mangere Bridge store has donated to the following organisations:

NZ Tag 20 Rugby U10 Team

Sponsored both a local individual Khan Iobu-Ioane and the team representing NZ in the Oceania Heritage Pacific Cup Tournament in Melbourne in November.  We wish Khan and the team all the best!

St James Players Mangere Bridge

Annual Free Soup Luncheon for the local community aged 65 and over.  Approximately 180 attended and transport was provided for those unable to drive.  As well as a cash donation we also supplied bread rolls, ingredients, serviettes and other grocery items.

Physical Disability Rugby League Team

It is our pleasure to support the local team playing against Australia in October in NZ. The game will be live streamed and is in affiliation with the Australian NRL.

Marist College AIMS Games

Eight local girls from Mangere Bridge were representing Marist College in Soccer and Netball at the AIMs Games in Tauranga.  AIMS Games are for intermediate aged children and attracts over 200 schools.  Donation helped with transport, accomodation and expenses.

Mangere Bridge Park Bowling Club

Sponsored Paul & Dorothy Jelicich Memorial Tournament to be played over Labour Weekend. The tournament aims to promote the spirit of lawn bowls.  Teams from local businesses and individuals from around the area get together for a weekend of bowls and laughter.

Well done to all these recipients of the FreshChoice Community Fund. On behalf of FreshChoice Mangere Bridge it is a pleasure to assist you and we wish you all the best for your endeavours.
