Swedish Meatballs

A delicious dinner full of flavour.

Goes well with rice or noodles.

Ingredients

  • 500g Beef Mince
  • ¾ cup Panko Breadcrumbs
  • 1 Tblsp Chopped Parsley
  • ¼ Tsp Ground Allspice
  • ¼ Tsp Ground Nutmeg
  • ¼ cup Finely Chopped Onion
  • ½ Tsp Garlic Powder
  • ¼ Tsp Pepper
  • ½ Tsp Salt
  • 1 Egg
  • 1 Tblsp Olive Oil
  • 5 Tblsp Butter
  • 3 Tblsp Flour
  • 2 Cups Beef Stock
  • 1 Cup Full Cream
  • 1 Tblsp Worcestershire Sauce
  • 1 Tsp Dijon Mustard
  • Salt/Pepper to Taste

Instructions

  1. Mix beef mince ,breadcrumbs ,parsley ,allspice ,nutmeg ,onion ,garlic powder ,pepper/salt and egg in a bowl.
  2. Roll into meatballs and cook in frypan with olive oil and 1 Tblsp butter continuously turning until cooked through and set aside.
  3. Add 4 Tblsp butter and flour to frypan and whisk till it turns brown.
  4. Slowly stir in beef stock and cream.
  5. Add worchestershire sauce and Dijon mustard and simmer till sauce thickens.
  6. Add salt/pepper to taste.
  7. Add meatballs back to the frypan and simmer for another 1-2 minutes.
  8. Serve with rice or noodles.
